October 9, 2026 | 6 Free Events in Toronto Today

A Fall Friday. If you want to plan your week, the newsletter has events from today until next Thursday. Here are today's picks:

Fall Harvest Market
Sugar Beach | 5p-8p

Sugar Beach with over 40 food and drink vendors, pumpkin bowling, axe throwing, marshmallow fire pits and fall photo ops by the water. The festival is fine, but it's just a great reason to get to the lake on a long weekend.

So Special by Just Jenneh
Ace Hotel Toronto | 10p-2a

A late set rooted in R&B but ranging well beyond it. If you feel like a party with a vibe, here's a good start to the weekend.

Book Talk: Mobilizing Data for Justice
Another Story Bookshop | 6:30p-8:30p

Another Story is always a good place for a great conversation. Tonight's is going to be good, especially as we enter the worrying part of the AI era.

Runway Reels: Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie
YZD Runway | 5:30p-10p

Great Canadian movie at the drive-in on the old Downsview airport runway, with a pre-show live performance starting at 6:30 before the movie starts at sunset.

Joy in the Park
David Crombie Park | 6p-8p

Jamii's last outdoor party of the year, with Trash Panda Brass performing iconic queer hits live in the park. The evening also includes the unveiling of three community-made mosaic tables created through workshops led by Alex Ganassini of Dolomite Mosaics. Bring a chair and snacks if you like. Rain moves it to The Jamii Hub at 264 The Esplanade.
