August 6, 2026 | 6 Free Events in Toronto Today
Great weather and great events to check out today if you have the time. Here are today's picks:
Deciduous Trees Walking Tour
South end of Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive (by parking lot) | 10a
A guided walk through Colonel Samuel Smith Park focused on trees that lose their leaves. If you're in the west end, these walks are such a great way to learn and get out in nature.
Global Convenience
Harbour Square Basin | 24hr
You've heard of it and it's been on your list to go see it. This is your reminder. Get to the waterfront and have a look. There's more to it than just the photo op. The full-scale replica convenience store sits on the water. It's such a different view from day to night as well.

girls run the 6ix weeknight run
Coronation Park | 6:30-8p
I hesitated with an event that's not for everyone, but sometimes, when it comes to fitness especially, a women-only event can be important. Today, any pace welcome, get out along the waterfront for a 4 to 5 kilometres with pace groups ranging from 5:45 to 7 minutes per kilometre. They make loops around the park so you can do as much as you're able to. Post-run food from Impact Kitchen if you register at the link below.
The Heavyweights Brass Band
Music Garden | 7 p-8p
There's only a few weeks left of this wonderful event by the lake. Tonight it's a Brass band in the music garden and it looks like a perfect night for it.

Outdoor Movie: Wildhood
Corktown Common | 8p-11p
A second chance for a rained out TOPS movie night. If the weather holds up this should be a gem. Get there early to get a spot, bring everything you need and always, always a waterproof blanket to sit on.

Quincy Bullen
Union Station | 5:30 p
Classically trained pianist and producer playing a set at Union Station's event space. His range covers funk, electronic, hip hop, and house, so the mix tends to shift as the evening goes. If you're passing Union after work, take a minute and go outside for this.
