August 31, 2026 | 6 Free Events in Toronto Today

It'll be rainy in afternoon, but it should clear up later. Some indoor and outdoor options for today. Here are today's picks:

Cinema Sotto le Stelle: Rosanero
Columbus Centre | 8:30p-11p

Cinema Sotto le Stelle wraps up its summer run of outdoor Italian movies tonight. The courtyard at the Columbus Centre is a genuinely lovely place to watch a film on a summer night. All screenings are in Italian with English subtitles. It doesn't look like the rain will continue in the evening, but check before you go.

Fragments & Stories
York Woods Library Theatre | 7p-8p

A collage workshop at York Woods Library Theatre centred on memory and imagination. If you've been holding onto old magazines, photographs, or scraps of paper with no clear plan, this is a reasonable excuse to do something with them.

Question Everything Trivia
Cibc Square | 5:30p-7:30p

Trivia in the Social food hall on the fourth floor of CIBC Square, hosted by Ari Isaac. The questions lean toward pop culture and the format is meant for people who don't really think they love trivia.

Bad Art Night
St. Clair/Silverthorn Library | 6p-7p

The goal is to make something genuinely bad on purpose. No experience required and arguably, experience is a disadvantage. The lack of pressure to produce anything worthwhile is, for a lot of people, exactly the point.

Bilingual Movie Night: Bon Cop, Bad Cop
Cedarbrae | 6p-8p

A screening Bon Cop, Bad Cop, the 2006 Canadian classic where an Ontario detective and a Québec detective are forced to collaborate after a body turns up right on the provincial border. It holds up, and watching it in a library in Toronto with a bilingual audience feels appropriately on-brand.

Concord Community Run
King's Landing (south Tower) | 6:30p-7:30p

The Concord Community Run Club is back for another season with weekly 5 km runs departing from King's Landing, the south tower of Concord Park Place. There are giveaways and prizes in the mix, but mostly it's a consistent Monday evening reason to get outside and run with people who live nearby.
